Google and Facebook adopt Internet standards from the creator of the World Wide Web.

Google and Facebook have signed a set of rules to protect the free and open Internet.
Standards were developed and submitted on November 5 by the creator of the World Wide Web (“World Wide Web”) Tim Berners-Lee. In total, 60 companies, governments and businessmen signed the document. Amazon, which the creator of the World Wide Web ranked as an influential technology company, did not sign the document. The document was prepared a year after a series of scandals due to the spread of fake news and user data leaks.
The standards are expected to be refined after a series of consultations with governments and companies. The list of requirements may also include the principle of net neutrality, as well as proposals for addressing Internet access issues in some regions.
The “network contract” requires Internet companies to respect the privacy of users, work to improve Internet access and ensure the confidentiality of user data.
This same person, if I recall correctly, is busy creating a new 'internet' where FB and Google cannot take over, as they have done. Nor any other big corp or government. I'm hoping this does not mean he has agreed to stop if they sign this agreement, as this agreement does not give the web back to the people.
