Lupus is one of the most mysterious diseases in the world, which can damage the various organs of the human body. There is no clear idea of the people of Bangladesh about this. Increasing awareness of this disease can help the patients properly.
They say, the word lupus is a Greek word meaning wolf. Since the attack of this disease is very sudden like a wolf attack, so it is called lupus. Until now, the exact cause of this disease is not fully known.
According to the Lupus Foundation of America, there are 50 million people infected with Lupus in the world. The disease can be between 20 and 150 people per one lakh. About 90% of women under the condition of Lupas patients. The incidence of boys is much lower than the incidence of girls.
Under these circumstances, on May 10, Lupus Day was observed. On the occasion of the day, organized in BSMMU rallies and seminars were organized. As a result of this disease, patients, family, friends, relatives, neighbors and society, like themselves, are worrying and misinterpreting the bad consequences of this disease, which are filled with misunderstandings and superstition in many ways.
Professor of BSMMU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Md. Sharfuddin Ahmed told the Bangla Tribune that if the disease causes the immune system to decrease. Many organisms may be infected.
