It makes a lot of sense for them to use their stake in such a way, but if they did act according to your suggestion I can already see the constant bickering and drama around who/what got voted on and how much etc. It could be a political nightmare for them. It's up to them to weigh the pros and cons of following such a plan, and I'm sure they've considered it before.

Bickering and drama has been part of this blockchain since day 1. In the end they are a business. If this can reduce costs and help them get what they need for low costs it's something to consider. Outsourcing the process is an option.

If developers and companies worried about bickering and drama, there would be no blockchain. It comes with the territory. I think you may have pinpointed the #1 reason why people wouldn’t want to utilize it though :) nobody wanted to deal with the politics of they don’t have to.
