The witness team I am part of called @blockbrothers is ready for the hard fork.

We have upgraded our servers to v0.20.0 and are ready for the hard fork.

Right now 16 out of the top 20 witnesses are running v0.20.0, and I'm pretty confident that it will happen on 25th September.

If you have a witness vote spare and want to support a team witness consisting of 4 people that love this place (@s3rg3, @eqko, @bennierex and myself @exyle) we always appreciate a vote for @blockbrothers (currently #36 on the witness list).

On a personal level I have been looking forward to this hard fork for a long time.

Finally will it be possible for other frontends and apps to onboard users without having to rely on Steem inc to verify all the new free accounts read about it all here.

This will speed up on-boarding a lot! (In this day and age not many are willing to wait 2 weeks to join a website, it has to be instantly).

For users that are already onboard this might not be the most exciting news but for the Steem blockchain I consider it a major step in the roadmap that has been laid out by Steem inc.

There is simply not much point in developing SMT's and Communities when nobody can join with ease.

At least that's how I see it.

Once this Hardfork is in place the foundation of this blockchain will be even more solid.

We could already scale very well and now people will be able to join very well.

Add SMT's (test-net only 3 months away) and communities to this mix and you have the perfect foundation upon to build beautiful things and something you can promote with ease!

Beautiful things we already see in the DApps we have on this chain today like Dtube, Dlive, Steem Monsters, Steepshot, Busy.org, Steempeak, Surfer, Partiko etc..

I guess you consider all those projects as an awesome Sneak Preview for what is to come when all the pieces are in place.

I was very happy to read lately more posts about what I have been saying for so long.

This blockchain is bigger than Steemit.com. And it is.

Blogging was just a very small first step of a much larger vision and more and more users are realising this.

This blockchain will empower 100.000 entrepreneurs and communities within 5 years.

It will awesome and we are having a front row seat to watch it all unfold!
