The benefits of building your brand, business or project on Steem and non of it has to do with the price.
Recently Steemit inc. pulled some large delegations from projects build on top of the Steem blockchain.
(For those unfamiliar, with delegation you can lend someone your Steempower to use and you can take it back at any time).
Wether you agree with these moves by Steemit inc. doesn't really matter.
There is only one question that matters really and that is:
Can you sustain yourself as a project on the blockchain when your delegation is pulled.
If the answer is YES! Then great! you will be successful. If NO then you better start thinking about how you will be sustainable when it happens.
In this regard it is the same for bloggers that are trying to live on the Steem Blockchain by making content for content creation Dapps, like steemit.com or d.tube and relying on votes from others to pay for bills.
It's simply a liability.
Voters can change their mind any day and stop upvoting you leaving you in a troubled situation.
Recently some authors on Steem are trying to incorporate Patreon into their blogs. I think that's a cool experiment.
They are using their OWN acquired Steempower to reward their Patreons giving them an extra incentive to join up.
That's forward thinking.
But even without Steempower there are good reasons to build on Steem.
When you build something on Steem, wether it's your own brand, a business or a project you get some amazing perks that you don't get anywhere else on the internet.
You can tap into a very large user base that already have an account straight away to your brand, project or business. You don't have to sign them up.
All the tools to promote your brand, project or business are already build on the blockchain and you can use them straight away. (Blogging platforms, Video platforms, Advertisements on successful dapps, like Steem Monsters).
You get a free blockchain you can incorporate into your brand, project or business.
You get a currency outside of the FIAT system you can use straight away into your brand, project or business.
It doesn't mean that when you arrive on the Steem Blockchain you will be successful automatically. It still requires work, effort and a business mindset but everything you need to succeed is already here.
Steem is an ever growing social economic ecosystem that anyone can use to build their own brand, business or project by utilising a blockchain with an ever growing community and with more and more businesses build on top of it that are all connected through the same account names and wallets.
This is what Steem is for me.

I totally agree with you. I seen so many projects get so much delegation for over a year and still couldn’t make it work and when the delegation is pulled they complain. 🤦🏼♂️
If the project is good, individuals can support it with their own delegation. 😀

yep i'm doing this exact thing, tapping into my 5k and 7k students on two different platforms to bring them here, get them an account and power them up! :)
"Can you sustain yourself as a project on the blockchain when your delegation is pulled." - If you can´t and you are already operating by more than 6 month than you should talk to someone who knows how to manage a business and save your project. Or it will die sooner than you think.
While I absolutely agree with being independent, I also think that delegations made to develop a project should honor their intent if the project is performing as a sudden change without notice can alter a business plan or model. While the model could be flawed for depending on delegations, it was always the thought that larger projects to decentralize key Dapps similar to those in a centralized mindset would require the assistance of the community. I think the community will figure it out for those projects adding value but I am disappointed by the way it happened.

Glad to see that you finally addressed the delegations being pulled. Not that there is much to say about it. It is what it is... Good points here. I have been spreading your opinion as much as I can about dapps needing to find a way to be sustainable outside of delegations like Steem Monsters. It will be interesting to see how the dapps that had their delegations pulled recover.... or not.
