Look what I found!

I did some digging upstairs and I found my old NES in a cabinet next to my Sega Megadrive/Genesis (with SF2 still in it).

Wow, does this brings back some memories.

As you can see it's fairly busted up and it also turned yellow like so many devices from that era.

I wonder if it still works.

I found the controllers but the adapter is nowhere to be seen.

When I opened it up there was a surprise....

My nemesis was hiding inside.

It must have been in there waiting, looming....for maybe 20 years.

This game is hell, made by the devil himself to suck the lifeblood out of any 8-year-old trying to complete it.

It's time to end this madness once and for all.

To be continued...

Did you do any modifications to it?
That switch on the right side doesn't look like factory standard 🙂

Well spotted. Back in the day, the shop sold a cartridge under the counter with 193 games in 1. But you needed this mod to make it work. The switch is not working anymore....maybe I can ask our dev @bennierex to take a look. He's pretty handy with all this stuff.

I hope you can get it to work again :) I found my Gameboy a few weeks ago and it is still working :)

I found my Gameboy too! But half the screen did not work anymore.

When I looked at that NES the first thing that came to mind was "DING DING DING DING!" - Mike Tyson's Super Punchout.

Ahh good times man. I hope you get that adapter from the internet so we can see you beat this game haha.

I'll start digging!

End the thing!!!

Wow man, thank you for this nostalgia. Thank you!👍

You can remove the yellow. I watch a youtuber called 8-bit guy who is an absolute pro at 1980s hardware.

Wow, what is that, never seen one in my life, but I´ve heard that can still have some value nowadays...

Be sure to blow in the Cartridge before putting it in! 😂😅

What had happened to that NES so you can put an extra switch on the side?

I imagine the main power and reset buttons give up... 😅

Mine has to be some were at my parents house... Next time I'll go ill try to find it...

Have a great day.

NES games were the real deal. They were intended to never be beaten. My old nemesis was the ninja turtle game. So hard, annoying, and anger inducing. Had to make those controllers of solid plastic to withstand the throwing. Haha.

I have TMNT 1 on an original cartridge. I made it to shredder once as a kid. Never beat him though. That is one tough game.

I can’t remember how far I got (definitely not to shredder). I just remember the underwater level. Still haunted by that.

As a slightly unrelated note ... if you found your NES in a nearby cabinet .... you might want to clean/purge your stuff more than once every 25 years🤣. Just kidding.

Turtles in Time was the best game
