The community is one of our strongest assets, let's use us more. How can we take over Stateofthedapps.com with our Amazing apps?
I think monetisation of apps on the blockchain will be one the the main themes this year for Steem.
Steem is already at the for-front of this because we are one of the few blockchains out there with working apps and a real community of users.
The problem I see for Steem is that other blockchains can tell a much better (controlled) story, because they have no users or even a platform to do it on, and so developers can spout any future potential bullshit about whatever they are developing. But it's all fake. It's just talk. A story.
In the end of the day, numbers tell the real story and we stand strong and we should be proud of that.
Out of the top 15 on https://www.stateofthedapps.com, we have the top spot with steemit.com (the first app build on top off the Steem blockchain) and 6 other apps build on top of the Steem blockchain slowly climbing the ranks.

And WE (the Steem Blockchain) have only been listed for a couple of weeks.
It's a great start of the year!
How does the Ranking work? Let's use the community.
But I am still not 100% sure how @stateofthedapps (they recently joined our blockchain too!) rates these apps but I'm sure we can figure it out and boost the numbers even more.
What most blockchain lack and Steem does have is a community willing to go the extra mile to fight for their blockchain.
Remember the Netcoins listing here? Not a single blockchain came close to the votes we brought out.

I often hear from users they want to do more, but they are not developers, just users. How can they add extra value?
Community efforts it's where it's at.
Now, there are some apps build on top of the Steem blockchain that I would like to see much higher because they deserve it.

How can this be done?
I'll ask around. And ask @therealwolf too.

2019 should be Steem's year. Let's promote it more.

Could be as simple as logging in and doing one transaction a day for all the dApps we want to gain in numbers - if everyone does that ‘round of dApps’ daily it certainly will make a difference! So one game of steemmonsters, one upvote in Steemhunt, one comment via Partiko... (see, the last one I’ve done while sitting in a car!)
I’m very proud of where we’re at NOW, but let’s BOOM in 2019!

As for me, I have on-boarded 4 new users in the platform, all of them my facebook friends, and some my former students.

I'm surprised Busy.org isn't even on the top 15. It's the one I use the most. I'm going to try and use as many dApps as possible this year. I can expect Actifit to move up a bit in January for obvious reasons :)
Take a look at the listing for busy, the profile strength is very low, 46%. Does this look like a compelling DApp to use? Nope. But fortunately everyone (not only the busy.org team) can fix that by clicking on "Improve this profile" and provide missing info.

I remember voting on a couple of the DApps I use but need to get back on to vote on a couple more that I have since used! The way we are gaining ranks is surely impressive and a demonstration of the strength of our community. Also, considering that we got listed there because of the community and now they have joined ours also shows the potential.

Just keep building community and keep using all the dapps that we have.
One more point if I may add - Steem dapps have strong diversity which is lacked by dapps on other blockchain
I don't know how State of the dApps really works. They say that clicking through their link to the dApp websites apparently has an influence, as well as voting. But I am not sure how often you can vote. On Netcoins we were able to do new votes each day.
Just using the apps seems to be very relevant as well.
I will contribute with more animated videos for the Steem dApps, which will hopefully bring more people to use them i the first place.
By designing a redundant system of a hive mind with redundant nodes grouped all together if one node becomes overheated in transactions or falls the information stream will be taken over by another node. Creating a fast balanced network without hiccups. The back bone of steem. Like the time out I just experienced with Partiko.
