Mondros Armistice Agreement (30 October 1918)
By the end of 1918, Allied nations had no hope of winning the war.When Bulgaria was withdrawn from the war, the Ottoman Empire was disconnected from Germany, and Thrace and Istanbul were open to attacks on Greece.İttihat And Terakki party was signed after the overthrow of power. Mr. Bahariye Nazir Rauf (Orbay) , the representative who signed Mondros Armistice on behalf of the Ottomans. Britain conducted the talks on behalf of the Entente.The Mondros ceasefire treaty signed on 30 October 1919 consists of 25 articles. The conditions of the Treaty of Mondros were similar to those of Bulgaria, Austria-Hungary and Germany, which were signed in the same days.
Mondros ceasefire agreement :
1)- The opening of the Straits of Canakkale and Istanbul, the occupation of the Black Sea by the Entente States will be ensured.
2)- all mine fields, torpedoes and hive positions in the Ottoman waters will be shown and help to scan and remove them.
3)- information about the mines in the Black Sea will be given.
4) all the prisoners of the Entente States and the Armenian prisoners will be unconditionally delivered to the Entente States in Istanbul.
5) the Ottoman army will be discharged immediately, except for the protection of borders and the supply of Internal Security.
6)- Ottoman warships will be surrendered and detained by the Entente States in the Ottoman ports to be shown.
7) If a situation threatens the security of the Entente states, they will be able to occupy any strategic point.
8)- the Entente States will resign from the Ottoman railroad and the Ottoman merchant ships will be in their service.
9) the Entente States will benefit from the means of the Ottoman shipyards and ports.
10)- Taurus tunnels will be occupied by the Entente States.
11) the Ottoman forces inside Iran and in the Caucasus will withdraw from the territories they occupied.
12)- the inspection of radio telegraph and cables shall be carried out to the Entente States except for the government communication.
13)- the destruction of articles and materials related to military trade and maritime shall be prevented.
14)- the Entente states will supply coal, diesel and oil from Turkey. (none of these substances will be exported.)
15) all railways shall be controlled by the police of the Entente States, provided that they are open to public use.
16) the forces in Hicaz, Assyria, Yemen, Syria and Iraq will be handed over to the commanders of the nearest Entente States.
17) Ottoman officers in Tripoli and Benghazi will surrender to the nearest Italian garrison.
18)- the ports under Ottoman occupation in Tripoli and Benghazi will be delivered to the Italians.
19)- the removal of all Germans and Austrians from Turkish countries within a month; the removal of those in remote regions at the earliest possible date.
20) any decision to be made on both the military and the delivery of the Ottoman army and the delivery of the means of transport to the Entente States shall be carried out immediately.
21.on behalf of the Entente States, a member shall work under the control of the Entente and shall provide the needs of the Entente States and shall be promptly informed of any information that he may request.
22)- Ottoman prisoners of war will be held in the hands of the Entente States, except those who can provide military service should think about the idea of release.
23) the Ottoman government will cease all relations with central States.
24) if there is confusion in places called six provinces, they will be able to occupy any of these provinces in the Entente States.
25) the war between the Allies and the Ottoman Empire will end at noon on Thursday, October 31, 1918.
The rights of sovereignty of the Ottoman Empire were taken away. With this Agreement, which includes unconditional surrender unconditionally, the Ottoman state ended in effect
