Preperation.

To go into places you are not familiar with is dangerous, it is even more dangerous to go unprepared and untrained. One of the main things to consider is safety. it's quite simple, remember that you need food, water, any form of first aid kit or med kit and a flashlight(with batteries, appropriately) then you also remember that storm drain has water and it is more comfortable to wear rubber boots or anything around those realms. remember, it gets boring down there but also remember the dangers of the ditch, water, disease, snakes, roaches, sharp object and especially, people. water sometimes piles up next to debris and when it rains a lot of that debris suddenly charges the exit.

Flashlights are key to this game, don't settle for cheap and waterproof doesn't mean it's safe to just shove it inside the water if you run out you will either have to settle with your phone or walk straight and hope for the best. there were some moments that my main flashlight suddenly shut off and all I had left was some walmart headlight, i mean it worked but i was sort of assuming I was close to my destination. go late at night or at any time that doesn't have any pedestrians just roaming about.

bring an extra bag to carry any find you get, the first time i found something, i had to carry it in my pocket all wet and shit. also remember that there may be people down there, most of the time its the occasional couple fucking or some kids interested in a similar hobby but sometimes it's someone that might want to harm you (most likely theft or the fear of being snitched on) so remember to be fit or have a modest ability to fight, most of these tunnels are only 8 feet tall and not very wide so your fucking bo staff wont help here remember to use something simple like a homemade batton, knife, golf club, bat, or if you are a sick fuck you can use a knife(i carry my practice balisong because it looks and sounds real).

while it might be extremely hot when you enter you must remember that wind travels and so does the cold. carry a jacket you are not afraid will get ruined but make sure that it's not too heavy, you want to be comfortable not in a sauna or freezing. wear a hat that isn't too thin and covers most of your head is also a safe bet due to roache. Gloves are also a good idea, remember you are surrounded by dirty water, putting your hands in your pockets won't prevent them from getting dirty. Food should be small like a trail mix or a light snack and water should involve 2-3 bottles per person (no soda is not water).

Put your phone in a ziplock bag so it doesn't get any scratches from the dirt. Bring some chalk to warn people behind you or to remember some hotspots, if its too wet write it down in apiece of paper. Music is something to heavily consider if your friends aren't very talkative, no matter what you do , don't play music extremely loudly, play scary music, or play loud animal noises. This might make the people around you scared or even worse, they might realize you are distracted by the music and not paying attention to the walk making you vulnerable.

It doesn't matter how safe you think it is to drink beers or take acid might be, don't do it in the storm drains. litter clogs up the waterways and you might forget where the exit is ( Im assuming you know what acid is and the effects of it, sometimes the water gets knee high and a difficulty in movement is a very high risk) smoking cigarettes might also be a risk due to a very small chance of some gasoline or oil waste in the water.

If you are gonna record remember to either activate low light mode or carry a flashlight in the other hand. Ill be leaving friday at 6 and getting out at probably 7-9 if i don't get any complications.

Wish me luck
