Its weird, I have only been doing this for a couple of weeks but found myself running on my toes the other day when I was running to work. With the running track, I find it to be a nice change as I know it is going to be completely flat and a little softer under feet than pavement. Especially when we are doing leaping and bounding plyometric work I know there is less chance of twisting an ankle as well.
