Do Not Enter, Except Bicycles

The kind of sign I like to see! Closing this intersection to motor vehicle crossings was a much debated decision...

Cars, 0. Bicycles, 1.

It's nice to win once in awhile.

The perpendicular path is a bicycle and pedestrian trail. Closing off cross traffic allows cyclists to cruise through without worrying about inattentive drivers, or the "You go, no you go" dance between bike and car.

I've been enjoying this new design and finally stopped to take photos during my ride today. The weather exceeded 70 degrees F in Minneapolis and riding conditions were awesome with some cloud cover.
