How to Motivate Yourself to Be Fit and Active?
We all dream about having the perfect body, a figure that is sleek, strong and beautiful. While we know that getting there requires a real commitment to exercise and healthy living, maintaining the motivation for fitness can still be a struggle. Workouts can get boring and sometimes putting on your sneakers to go for a jog will seem like punishment. Staying fit requires consistency and an engaged mind, but here are a few tips to keep you on track when you feel lethargic.
Music
It’s amazing how a strong beat can keep you on your toes. When you’re sluggish, try cranking up one of your favorite jams to get your heart beating and your body moving. Whether you’re dancing in your room or running on pavement, uptempo music can help keep you kinetic while also distracting you from the exertion of your muscles. You may find that you can workout for longer periods of time at higher intensities with the help of music, because the rhythms and sounds naturally make hard work seem more like play.
Goals
Having a tangible goal in mind when you’re working out can keep you on course for fitness and revitalization. While weight loss goals are common, it can be more effective to make special arrangements or plans that are more exciting. For instance, if you’re a beginning runner, you could register for an upcoming 5K, giving yourself time to prepare and train before the big date. It’s also a good idea to set multiple small goals, such as increasing your amount of squat repetitions or the duration of a walk.
New Duds
An improved appearance can directly stimulate our mood. If you’ve been working out in raggedy sweats, consider investing in a more fun, flattering workout outfit that will get you excited to move. A lot of people think they should only buy clothing for their dream body, but it’s important to dress for the figure you have and feel beautiful regardless of your weight or fitness parameters. A new, bright pair of sneakers or vibrant printed leggings may give you a boost of energy to keep chugging along.
Change of Scenery
If you’re used to working out indoors, it’s certainly possible to grow dreary of staring at the same walls and gray treadmill. Try boosting your routine by doing cardio outside if you’re used to machines, or changing up your route. Take advantage of your surroundings and explore a new neighborhood during a walk. If you live around forests or natural parks, go for a hike. Embracing the beauty of nature and new environments can refresh you when you’re feeling sullen.
Ultimately, motivation to keep active relies on a vested interest in having fun. You don’t want to bog yourself down with workouts and schedules that you grow to hate. Instead, mix up your activities and find a means of exercise that you actually enjoy. Whether it’s dancing, swimming, hula hooping or walking in the rain – there is sure to be something that will help keep you moving, growing and living life to its fullest.
We should all develop a habit of exercising especially now that we hardly do anything other than sit and work.
My dear friend,
health is wealth, that in fitness is success of rare sort, thanks
When you are above the need of basic amenities, the need to motivate arises. Poor people motivate just for a living.
Nevertheless, this looks good. Thanks for the post.
For healthy we must exercise daily
Power is lived means oh every in we quiet. Remainder provision an in intention. Saw supported too joy promotion engrossed propriety. Me till like it sure no sons.
Really cool, i do it, and it works !
Music is definitely the biggest one for me. I find that once I'm on a roll and have been exercising regularly for a while, I need less motivation because I've got more energy from being fitter! Just gotta get over that first hump to get to this stage. Cheers for the post. :)
Great advice and tips! Consistency is key. Find what works best for you and be consistent. Thanks for sharing @simonjones, I am newcomer to Steemit and just posted my introduction post. I'd appreciate it if you could give it a read and let me know what you think!
I guess, it's just my opinion, the most hardest thing is to keep your goal in sight. when you start say "maybe, it's not worth" in the begin of the end. you have to seek for someone or something who can help you and cheers you up.
