Fixing others' problems is a lot easier than fixing your own

This was an opinion essay I wrote a while back for school in English class, I though I would share it with you Steemians.
“With or against?”

According to the author of a quote read in my English class, Europe (apparently) ‘has it easy’ in dealing with a few heavy topics in life, for example: terrorism, poverty, war or an authoritarian regime. Whether or not that statement rings true, depends on which side of the fence you sit on. One could also interpret it as complete nonsense, because every single place, country and continent on earth suffers from one or more of those referred issues at hand.

So, not every civilized or semi-civilized country- whether it be Europe or elsewhere- have life completely ‘easy’. One could consider it to be ‘risky’ to stand up and to protest for human rights or simply an issue that needs to be resolved or changed; however, it could also be considered the life of a normal human being. Taking chances, risking safety or lives, and fighting for what one believes in to be ‘right’ are all parts of living. Although some points in this quote ring true, they don’t seem to really make a difference in life, whether these reasons should or should not or are against what’s right and what’s wrong. The European countries and civilian mindset are mostly being criticized in this quote; because in the eyes of the author, they seem to be doing nothing about changing anything (whether these people are capable or willing is completely off topic). Not all European countries are rich nor are able to take matters into their own hands, and as a matter of fact, most European countries aren’t all too well-educated as one would think.

All in all, this topic to me just feels like a pointing of fingers. As for the author’s opinion, he most likely maintains that one should feel bad about the problems he faces and should come up with solutions to solve those issues- even if those European countries are facing the very same situations. Instead of pointing out problems and dealing with them themselves, some prefer to blame others and expect them who, from the other person’s point of view, don’t know what it’s like to be in their shoes and need to fix their problem.
