Rock-hewn Monolithic Churches
Lalibela is one of Ethiopia's holiest cities. It has 12 remarkable rock-hewn monolithic churches, built by King Lalibela in the late 12th or early 13th Century.

There are twelve churches and chapels. Four churches are monolithic and the remaining are excavated churches in different degrees of separation from the rock.
These particular kind churches are found in Lalibela. Nowhere else in the world and are considered to be among the wonders of the world.
