Of Ethics and Empathy
Ethics are all about convenience and ecosystem variance. Nobody can be empathetic, not even for oneself. We believe we can sense the psyche of others but the only thing we accomplish is an approximation of our wishes and expectations. The human mind is not meant to work in retrospect. Our memories, dreams and beliefs get jumbled up into an abstract amalgamation of reality.
We will continue picking up guns as long as we continue to breed. We will continue to antagonize each other in every way - whether that is physical violence with guns or mental gymnastics with names on spines of books. Competition is build within our DNA.
We are animals striving for survival just any like other species. No matter how much you rationally explain this to others or to oneself we will still follow fashion, seek approval, try to be unique and different. As long as the ego exists we will butcher one another any way we can.
It very much seems like it now,
however mankind is growing out of childhood into adolescence.
Guns will be put down, but it is not out of some kind of disarmament, or law. It comes from people really being empathetic.
When you KNOW that person out there is a part of you, then you will do your best to see them not suffer. And so, all future negotiations will start with a win-win and work at being better. Further, we will develop more of an ability to let people be themselves.
Imagine it this way.
We have mined enough gold for all the people to have all the jewellery they could want. So, why do we keep tearing down mountains for more of it?
Humanity growing up will mean that this type of thing just becomes apparent.
Cryptos will become even better money than we can even immagine
And gold will be worth nothing more than the beauty of the item created with it.
Competition makes life worthwhile. You expect us to act otherwise?
(Hint: we won't.)
Indeed it is all part of human nature. Whether we follow fashion, start conflicts or stumble in attempts of empathy, we are designed to react accordingly. One may try overcome this instinctual human nature but only with the help of the supernatural. Thanks for sharing.
