RE: Is there an Etiquette Guide for Steemit?
I could use an analogy or two referencing what turning a blind eye does with things in this world, but with these capital letters and increasing font size, I cannot help but to wonder if you are yelling at me @logiczombie, and what is most bothersome about this to me, is the fact that I really do like you and want to see you do good here.
What I see, is a guy trying to manipulate you into using bid bots (bid bots which create an economic issue here regardless of flags to the receiver of the vote(s) because the bid bot owner still wins) will put you at risk for being flagged by the large accounts and make success here very difficult for you.
Bid bots can be looked at one of two ways.
- Promotion for visibility.
- Exploitation of a fundamental flaw capitalized on by the greed of bid bot owners.
When someone boosts a comment that is not going become "visible" to the trending page, and the comment likely took very little effort at all, then we can throw opinions around all day in reference to the legitimacy of this behavior, and call it censorship, but I do not see removing rewards that were taken by way of exploitation censorship. I see that is removing the rewards and putting them back into the pool for everyone else.
And sure, those big earners might be in the background laughing because they are getting a bigger slice as a result, but also the small earning posts will get a little bit more as well. This behavior takes from everyone, not just the ones who make more than many would agree they should be making.
My use of flags on this particular user is likely to continue. Look, if I see a woman being raped, I will not turn a blind eye, just as I will not turn a blind eye to seeing your rewards being raped on the steem blockchain with this kind of behavior. If that is doesn't make sense to you, then we do not think alike a single bit my friend.
I don't know if your giant letters telling me what to do is yelling, but I certainly do not like the approach @logiczombie, can we please maintain a semblance of respect towards one another, even if we do not agree on certain things?
Here's the other problem.
The more people who post and vote, the smaller each share becomes.
I'm "stealing" from you right now, simply by posting and voting.
The reward pool (including your fractional share) would be larger if I walked away from steem forever.
If we magically landed some big-fish off of youtube tomorrow that has over a million followers, steemit's existing 30,000 users will have their steemit-rewards-pool-percentage cut by at least 66% and many will be diluted down to almost nothing (below the minimum payout).
It's just like the Bitcoin miners. Fewer miners means bigger rewards (each gets a larger slice of the pie). Zillions of miners means tiny-if-not-non-existent rewards and only the largest mining-farms can afford to stay in business (business always creeps toward centralization).
Recruiting top-tier tallent to steemit would spell doom for the current top-dogs (as far as reward pool percentage), although it would very likely boost the value of steem back up above $1.00 USD (by boosting the market-cap).
So, they might be ok with that...
For someone so new here, you seem to understand Steem economics better than myself!
Nice moves!
Comical, this shit is comical 😂
You're pretty smart. You should get on steemleo.com
