A Concept for an Ethical Inventor Platform

Are you an inventor? Do you know any inventors? Would you like to see a truly ethical inventor system built to help inventors? Please read on!

As a part of the Ethical Developers Group project, we are looking at developing an ethical inventor system, a platform that will help inventors. Obviously, invention is important to the future of humanity and we want to do all we can to encourage it. We believe that disruptive inventions are often crushed by establishment actors that are threatened by them. Our platform would make such innovations unstoppable.
What's Wrong with the Status Quo?
Existing inventor platforms generally have one or more of the following ethical problems:
- The platforms want immediate access to the details of an invention.
- They don't respect the inventor's privacy. They don't get to control who sees their ideas.
- Platform owners often seize control over intellectual property, while telling inventors they will receive a sliver of the profits.
- Inventors spend money out-of-pocket for services that they don't need.
- Inventors rarely come out ahead when using these systems.
How Our Platform Would be Different
Like the inventors themselves, we want to disrupt the industry by introducing an ethical system that places the inventor in charge. A few features include:- We would provide a zero knowledge storage solution where the inventor would control who has access to their data.
- Most services would be free, but with the condition that we get a sliver of the company's shares or security tokens. Note that this turns the current paradigm on its head and gives us a strong incentive to see inventors succeed!
- The inventor will create a permanent record of invention and maintain their data in a tamper-proof system that tracks when files were uploaded and updated. This system will make it nearly impossible for information to be suppressed and it will provide evidence of when in idea was formulated.
