Ethereum’s DEXs Take the Lead Again, Overtaking Solana

Ethereum's decentralized exchanges reclaimed the top spot in March 2025, surpassing Solana in trading volume for the first time this year. Ethereum DEXs recorded over $64 billion in trades, while Solana followed with $52 billion, marking a shift from the previous memecoin-driven boom on Solana.

DefiLlama data shows that Ethereum benefited from institutional adoption, deep liquidity, and improved Layer-2 scaling. Stablecoin inflows also hit $130 billion, reinforcing Ethereum’s dominance. Meanwhile, Solana’s rapid rise, fueled by low fees and speculative trading, faced headwinds as traders migrated back to Ethereum’s DeFi ecosystem.
