Introducing CryptoSaga: a decentralized RPG on the Etherum blockchain

Hello, I’m super excited to introduce CryptoSaga, a decentralized RPG on the Ethereum blockchain.

You may purchase the origin cards, which you can exchange for heroic or legendary heroes when the game launches.
There will be common, uncommon, rare, heroic, legendary ranks for the heroes. Our goal is making the game sustainable. In order to achieve this, common and uncommon heroes will be given to the new players for free. Those free starter heroes will attract new players constantly, even as the economy of the game matures.

Heroic and legendary heroes, on the other hand, will be very hard to get. We do pre-sale the origin cards, but this is only for a limited time before the launch of the game. There will be expensive cards that will be able to summon heroic and legendary heroes. However, unlike Origin Cards, those cards may result in summoning lower-ranked heroes like rare heroes. In short, Origin Cards will be the most valuable asset in the game!

The heroes are ERC-721 tokens. This means, right after your purchase, you will be able to buy, sell, trade, and transfer heroes which are adhering to the ERC-721 standard. You will have the full control over the heroes in any circumstance as long as the Ethereum blockchain exists.

So what is the difference between other ÐApps and CryptoSaga? We tried to deliver more lively experience when the users play the game. In order to achieve this, we spent great effort designing, drawing, and animating the heroes and mobs. We believe this will make the meaningful difference. Unlike many other decentralized games showing their characters on the web pages with static images of the characters, CryptoSaga will deliver the great experience for the GAMERS.

Bone Animations and WebGL
The heroes are animated. They are not static images, nor are they sequenced animation files with large size. We use Spine for bone animations. With bone animations, the loading time will be greatly reduced and the performance will be great.

The heroes, mobs, and backgrounds are rendered with WebGL technology. We will be able to provide the decent gameplay powered by WebGL technologies like PixiJS or Unity Engine.

There will be three major contents for the heroes: Dungeons, the Arena, and Guilds.

Dungeons:

We consider the dungeons as the PVE part of the game. You will deploy your heroes on the dungeons then your heroes will fight monsters and acquire Golds from the dungeons. So why do you need to make your heroes stronger? Why do you need to have a wise strategy to deploy your heroes in the most appropriate places? That is because the power of each character determines the character’s share of the daily amount of gold earned. For example, let’s suppose you have a Shield Maiden who has 120 power when deployed in the Dark Cave. If the sum of powers of all heroes deployed in the dungeon (including yours and of other players) on that day is 1400, then you will take 8.57% (120 / 1400) of Golds acquired from the dungeon on that day. The power of a hero may differ from dungeon to dungeon. If the Light Power of the hero is higher than the Dark Power, then the hero will be more suitable for the Green Field of Paverin than the dark cave.

The Arena:

The Arena is where your heroes fight against the other players’ heroes. It’s true that if you make your heroes stronger, having more Battle Power(BP), you are more likely to win. However, BPs are not the only factor that decides who wins/loses. You must deploy the heroes and build your own strategy wisely to beat your opponents. We were inspired by a ÐApp named EtherRockets, which cleverly made the competition among the players on the blockchain. There will be leaderboards, and you will be able to challenge the other players. There will be four heroes on each side, and you will have to choose their moves for each turn. During the three turns, heroes will fight the opponents following your orders. The consequence of the fight will be decided on the blockchain, and this means no cheaters. Top-ranked players will receive rewards in ETHs or Golds from the Arena.

Guilds:

Guild system is inspired by the concept of many modern crypto-currencies with DPoS (Delegated Proof of Stake) concept. Top 101 guilds with most powers will receive the daily Gold reward. Guild Masters will share the profit with their guild members. The distribution of rewards will be done automatically by the smart contract, without any unfair process involved. We will explain it later with more detailed information showing how it works.
