Golem Network Token ($GNT) Brass Release Features

In this short post I would like to cover the Major Brass Updates/Milestone which the Golem Network Token will go through :
*Please note that the golem project is still in Alpha stage and they have a running prototype .

Brass Release

• This update of Golem will be focused on enabling rendering for Blender and LuxRendere, both of these are well known opensource tools used for Rendering.
• This Release will only support CPU (GPU Support will added on later)
• It will include the updated User Interface and Command Line Interface
• Will use devp2p instead of Qt (this was planned for Iron Golem Release, but they have decided to do it in Brass, 2 years earlier)
• Implementing IPFS (InterPlanetary File System) Protocol - Which has a huge advantage over the HTTPS. With IPFS it will be possible to distribute high volumes of data efficiency without any duplication thus saving space.
• Reputation System - When a task is divided into small chunks, it will be sent to few collaborators, and depending upon how fast (Or Slow) they are able to complete the task an algorithm will provide them with reputation points. This will help people build credibility.

It's been quite sometime waiting for this release, as of typing this post they have already missed the date by 20 days, but this is because they did not want to compromise quality ! Let's face it an alpha product with features not working would not be of much use. Moreover if you have worked in software industry I'm sure you're aware of the complexities which can arise will building a Product. We know they are close - I have been tracking the progress on [GIT] (https://github.com/golemfactory/golem/milestone/11) they have closed 105 issues but 45 still remain open. I personally feel its good that they are not committing to a exact date - it takes away the pressure and helps one work more efficiently. However they do concur to informing us of any developments they make ! Hopefully the update will be through by next month.
