RE: Custom built 6 gpu EVGA 1070 gtx SC mining rig!
Awesome build log there. I am currently thinking if i should build a small rig also. My idea is to go with GTX 1050Ti, they are not out of stock and for their 150$ price they generate 13 mhs. I calculated that i will make my money back in ~250days. Also this is quite a cheap rig, my total cost would be around 1500$ and mines 6*13 = 78 mhs.
Cool! Well it's much cheaper to build rigs in the US from what I've seen. I tired to create a rig with the highest available performance but it cost me a lot (3200 euros = 3722 dollars), it probably would have been more interesting to invest directly in one or few cryptocurrencies. But it's something I wanted to do, so I did it. Let's see if I made the good choice in the long run.
I will be looking forward to reading about your rig if you choose to go ahead with it.
Im actually from Europe and converted all my amounts to USD because all mining calulators and stuff are in USD.
I have one question about your rig, how did you connect 6 gpu-s to one power supply? What kind of adapters did you use and where can i get them? I heard that molex to 6pin are not that good so that's why im asking. Also, thank you very much for following, followed you back.
For the power supply I bought a 1200 w corsair professional platinum - it's energy efficient and enough to supply the 6 GPUs.
The 6 GPUs are connected to the mother board with PCI-E riser cables which I bought on ebay (http://www.ebay.fr/itm/USB-3-0-PCI-E-Express-1x-To-16x-Graphics-Extender-Riser-Card-Adapter-Power-Cable/222477460745).
The GPUs are also connected to the power supply with connector power cables provided in the power supply packaging.
Now is see how it works. Thank you very much for taking your time to take these pictures and help, really appreciate it. As a thank you i bought you a upvote :)
Hey! Thank you @sticker! but there was no need, a simple resteem would have been enough. I was glad to help out :)
