To execute a smart contract you need ETH. Transactions require a fee to prevent spam, on steem there is no fee but users are only allowed a certain amount of bandwidth respective to their steem power.

so in order to put a dapp live on the ethereum network i will need to have a smart contract in place which will require ETH? hence any dapp that i build will always require me to purchase ETH if i want to put it live in the ethereum machine
