WARNING! MyEtherWallet phishing attempts are on the rise!
MyEtherWallet is a popular and legitimate Ethereum web wallet. However, due to its trustless model in which users have to upload or input their private keys, the number of phishing attempts on its users are growing. Cybercriminals use fake websites that look identical to MyEtherWallet in terms of appearance, but are able to steal users' private keys, unlike the original MyEtherWallet website.
If you use MyEtherWallet, be sure to use the REAL website: https://myetherwallet.com. Never click links from Slack, Telegram, Twitter and any other IM or social media apps. If you're unsure which website is real, you can always check our wallet section and look for MyEtherWallet. The official MEW website reads:
"Please beware of phishing websites. Do not enter your key on a website you arrived at by clicking a link. Use bookmarks. Always triple-check the domain. Ours is dot com. You are responsible for your safety & security."
I never knew about this. Thanks a lot!
