Ethereum on the rise: Is ETH carrying ETC? | Ethereum zu den Wolken: Trägt ETH ETC?

In the last few days, we witnessed some huge gains in both the Ethereum Tokens ETH, as well as in the Ethereum classic Token ETC. Last week on May 18. 2017 you could buy ETC for about 6.30 $, as for now its roaming around 20 bucks! So ETC has roughly trippled its value, allowing it to enter the billion-dollar marketcap-space.

In den letzten Tagen sahen wir riesige Wertzunahmen beim Ethereum Token ETH, aber auch beim Ethereum Classic Token ETC. Letzte Woche am 18. Mai 2017 konnte man ETC noch für 6.30 $ kaufen, und jetzt befindet sich der Kurs bereits bei 20 $! Also hat sich der Wert von ETC Verdreifacht, was ihm den Aufstieg in den Milliarden-Dollar-Marktkapitalisierungs-Raum ermöglichte.

Ethereum had some gains as well: It jumped from 90 $ to roughly 190 $ , thus more than doubling its value!!

Ethereum selbst konnte auch einige Gewinne verzeichnen: In der letzten Woche sprang der Kurs von 90 $ auf ungefähr 190 $, was den Wert mehr als verdoppelte!!

This poses the question: Are these gains justified? or is it just a bubble that is going to blow up in our face...

Hier stellt sich die Frage, ob dieser Zuwachs gerechtfertigt ist...

The difference between ETH and ETC

Due to a hacking-attack on a smart-contract forrm slock.it in the Ethereum-Blockchain, large sums of ether have been stolen. This resulted into a so called "hard-fork" of the Ethereum-Blockchain. Why?

ETH wanted to...
...Retrieve the stolen funds, and put them back into the smart contract. This would mean the chain must be altered.

ETC wnated to....
... Keep the chain as-is, since the "Code is Law", and altering the chain would stand in conflict with the blockchain-immutability.

But since the majority of the network wanted to have the chain in a pre-hack state, the hard-fork took place on July 20. 2016.
The core developer and founders backing ETH, lead to Ethereum growing in value fast, and outpacing the un-tampered chain Ethereum Classic by a landslide.
Is this about to change?

Der Unterschied zwischen ETH und ETC

Wegen eines Hackerangriffs auf ein Smart-Contract von Slock.it auf der Ethereum Blockchain, wurde eine grosse Summe an Ether gestohlen. Dies führte zu einem sogenannte "Hard-Fork" der Ethereum Blockchain. Warum?

ETH wollte...
...Den gestohlenen Ether zurückgeben. Dies würde bedeuten, dass die Blockchain verändert werden muss.

ETC wollte....
... die Blockchain behalten wie sie ist, weil sie der meinung sind "Code ist Gesetz" und die Kette zu verändern würde mit der Unveränderlichbarkeit der Blockchain stehen.

Weil aber die Mehrheit des Netzwerkes die Kette in einem "Vor-Dem-Hack"-Stand haben wollten, wurde der Hard-Fork am 20 Juli 2016 durchgeführt.
Da aber die Entwickler und der grösste teil des Netzwerkes hinter ETH standen bzw. stehen, konnte dies einen riesigen Wachstum verzeichnen, während ETC nur schleppend voran kam.
Wird sich dies ändern?

What now?

Ethereum has still the support of all leading developers, as well they are cutting deals with major companies like UBS and Microsoft ( https://entethalliance.org/ ). There might still be a minor price correction in the next days or weeks, since the price just literally exploded. But in the long term view i think ethereum has a lot more potential, than where it is now.

On the other hand ETC, has the untampered chain on its side. But other than that, they don't really have much going for them. They haven't gotten any deals with big companies, and the major part of the community resides on the ETH-side.
One other thing that influences the ETC-Price, is the name. Whenever you see a rise in ETH, ETC is dragged along. I think at the moment, ETC is not representing the value it has, or will have in the near future, and we are in for a massive price correction, even in the long run.

Was Jetzt?

Ethereum hat nach wie vor die Entwickler hinter sich. Zusätzlich schliessen sie Verträge mit grossen Firmen wie UBS oder Microsoft ab ( https://entethalliance.org/ ). In den nächsten Tagen oder Wochen könnte dennoch eine kleinere Preiskorrektur stattfinden, Da der Preis in den letzten Tagen wortwörtlich explodiert ist. Wenn wir jedoch etwas weiter in die Zukunft blicken, denke ich dass Ethereum sein Potential noch lange nicht ausgeschöpft hat und noch um einiges wachsen wird.

Auf der anderen Seite haben wir ETC, welche mit der unveränderten Kette werben. Anders als das, haben sie nicht viel was für sie spricht. Sie haben weder die Unterstützung der Kern-Entwickler, noch schliessen sie Deals mit nennenswerten Firmen. Auch die Community befindet sich zum grössten teil auf ETHs Seite.
Eine andere Sache die den ETC Preis zu beeinflussen vermag, ist der Name. Immer wenn Ethereum Sprünge macht, zieht dieser Ethereum Classic mit sich.
Ich denke aber, dass ETC momentan weder seinen jetzigen Wert, noch jener in naher Zukunft repräsentiert und wir in nächster Zeit eine grössere Preiskorrektur erwarten dürften (auch langfristig gesehen).
