ETH vs ETC

Can anyone present a strong argument for buying Ethereum Classic, as Barry Silbert is advocating for?

The main chain, supported by the developers that have led Ethereum to this point, are working on ETH. Why would any long-term investor follow Barry Silbert's lead?

In the end, my belief is that the people behind the protocol matter and ETH will be victorious. What do you think?
