Only the few controlling corporations got it at that rate. The velocity of transactions is monumental. I am sure that trading sites like Polo, Bittrex etc have a slower margin of showing these dips even for people with stoppers.

http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/wall-street-code/ This is a great documentary about how some investment firms won big money by gaining a competitive advantage over everyone else on Wall Street by being able to trade a few milliseconds ahead of everyone else. I cannot even imagine how it must be and will be for crypto currencies.
