DAV - Fueling the next generation vehicles
In November 2016, Dominos had successfully delivered its pizza to a customer in New Zealand using a commercial drone. In China, a company named EHand have successfully tested drones that will carry passengers and fly in the air. Many states in US have approved the testing of autonomous vehicles on the roads. The above information clearly indicates the entry of driverless or autonomous vehicles in the main stream market and companies like Google, Uber and Lyft have already started the development and testing of autonomous vehicles. But, all these companies are buiding their solutions using the closed loop system to retain their control over the technology. Is it a healthy contribution? No. The internet is very popular because of its decentralized nature. In a similar manner, there is a need for an open source technology to move forward towards the next generation transportation.
To fuel the next era of transportation, a blockchain based platform named DAV (Decentralized Autonomous Vehicles) is under development. What is DAV? DAV is basically a computer network that will connect different types of self-driving vehicle such as car, truck or drone to all members of the platform. 5. Manufacturers – Vehicle manufacturers can earn tokens by selling or assembling vehicles that are complaint with the open source platform.
6. Service providers – Whether it is a self-driving or driverless vehicle, it always needs regular maintenance. So, the auto service providers can earn tokens by providing maintenance and repair services for vehicles. Also, those who can retrieve lost or damaged DAVs will also be rewarde with the tokens.
