The Best Ether Wallet (Pt 1) - CoinomisteemCreated with Sketch.

Hey kid.... want to buy some....ETH?
This was the awkward call from a larger man with an oddly placed bald spot in a sketchy trench coat that moved me towards looking at the newest boom in crypto, Ethereum.
Chances are you have already heard of this monolith of a coin, but if you hadn't its like a fancy pants Bitcoin that allows for people to create securities and allow people to do kickstarter-like campaigns to get startup for dope new fintech and scams alike.
I didn't really care about Ether wallets as for the first few months of being involved with this specific cryptocurrency I didnt want to use it's functionality. I simply thought of it as another Bitcoin or Litecoin where I would just have it in my wallet and not spend it to appreciate value.
Thats all well and good, but as I just mentioned I lost nearly all the functionality of this coin. So thus I begin my journey towards figuring out how to use this newfangled technology and hope to invite you, dear reader and followers, along for the ride.

Ether wallets have always been a weird spot for me.
Ever since I hopped back into cryptocurrency community I have been on the hunt for the holy grail of ether wallets which provides awesome functionality and ease of use.

The first and only wallet that I have and use is Coinomi's wallet - Look at all this dope functionality! Tons of neat features and they have like 50 coins or something that you can shapeshift into other coins. All around a great idea!

Sadly this has numerous downsides as I have read that you can really only use Coinomi backups with....Coinomi. Being an ethereum noob (I can own it) I am also a slave to the things that I read on the interwebz and what I have heard is that when you don't have physical control of the key files for your wallet, even having a random word string keygen leaves you as weak as their system.
Normally, for functionalities sake, I wouldn't mind too much. I do enjoy the ease of use of the QR scanner and being able to send ether around using my handheld is pretty dope. But the downside is that Coinomi doesn't allow you to use the main function (as I see it) which is to buy into smart contracts and even create your own.
Only certain contracts/tokens are supported on Coinomi, forget about adjusting gas and other such things. This is quite disheartening considering thats kind of the purpose of the coin as it stands in my mind.

So now I will commence a journey to find the best wallet for ETH that I possibly can that allows smart contracts and stores value with a decent level of security...
I feel like this should be easy, but so far it is not...

When all the internet knows how to use ether except for me...

So here we go! Off to find the best wallet for ether! I will be periodically updating this guide until I can find something that works worth a damn and hopefully can bring some light to the Ether-space.
