FCFL — The Future of Sports-Fan Controlled Football League

in #ethereum7 years ago

I’m big believer in blockchain technology and how it can change (it is already changing) the world. From time to time I’m publishing an article about crypto, tokens, ICO and it is essentially important that I clear a few things before we begin…

Please treat this intro as an obligatory disclaimer. I’m not your doctor, lawyer, lover, accountant, financial advisor. Don’t sue me just because I post on the site — I treat you as an intelligent entity, if you found this website you are easily quality as top 10% smartest people on the internet.

Be careful when investing in crypto

There is no such thing as free money.

I cannot recommend highly enough this list: https://chrisdunn.com/50-crypto-trading-investing-lessons/
Chris Dunn drops nuggets of knowledge, it’s seriously good stuff. Some of my favourite picks:

  1. The best way to day trade cryptocurrencies is — DON’T!
  2. You WILL make every mistake in the book. Don’t beat yourself up when you make mistakes, just learn and try not to make the same mistake twice.

I totally admit I made most of the mistakes on the list. Now I’m a little bit wiser and the more I know the more cautious and sceptical I become…

Manage your private keys

Be careful how you keep your private keys and backups. Hardware wallets surely the best.

Quite seriously — you don’t want programs on your computer to have access to your private keys. Keeping private keys on a separate device is by far the best protection against a hack or a virus. Private keys never leave the device, they are used to sign the transaction that is then broadcasted to the network.

Markets are…

Markets can remain irrational a lot longer than you and I can remain solvent. — so you think printing Tether is a scam and crypto bubble will pop?

Ride the wave, trend is your friend.

Personally I don’t have energy for day trading, I just buy and hodl, or earn (directly in crypto) and hodl.

Sure fire research questions

DYOR — do your own research, ask difficult questions. I wish everyone investing was asking these:
How much tokens issued pre-pre-pre-ICO for strategic investors, what is their discount, what is their lock-in period?

Check Bloomberg, Reuters, Fortune logos on the website — anyone can include an image, not everyone can get press coverage.

Check with advisors and partners — are they really committed to the project, did they update their LinkedIn?

DYOR — do your own research, it will save you a lot of stress. To have faith and confidence, to know that you did the work is a great feeling.

Handy links to FCFL

FCFL is short for Fan Controlled Football League, which is used to grow football championship.
As the program appears to be American, it illustrates that they are mapping and utilising their sporting philosophies on a global platform.
It works on the belief that their idea will become the latest thing enough to be implemented in other sporting activities.

Its FAN token is used to help patrons wager on teams and assist them to connect in its ecological community. Therefore, FCFL is an interesting venture, which will give rise to a decentralized configuration for the lovers of sports.

The project is created for the Digital Fan. Despite not having a field or a standardized football stadium, all of the games will be conducted in an interactive construction facility. This creates a fun sports platform that presents real-time results and can be streamed and viewed in every part of the world.

Drones and biometrics

They incorporate the application of drones, biometrics, and cams.
The FCFL will dispense its funds to achieve the contemporary sports technology for its platform. It will make use of live stream helmets, drones soaring over the arena for ongoing game footage, microchips in a ball, and other premium technology to help create a fun viewing of the game.
The project is created on Blockchain.
Exploiting Ethereum’s Blockchain, FCFL applies account book-based simplicity and reliability for all profit distribution and fan-based choices. The blockchain is important and crucial to creating an access network that improves the participation of the fans.

Future work

The project has promising plans. FCFL will progress to other fan formed teams as it constantly creates other sports (basketball, soccer, cricket, baseball, etc.) FAN token will be used to build up and fuel the ecological community and help the community in getting better in terms of quality and numbers.
Along with the plans to shape its initial season, FCFL will give a $1 million reward for the winning team. Making use of the funds it financed, the FCFL will construct an indoor field that contains every game inside the football league.

Blockchain innovation

A variety of innovative sports leagues has been created and dissolved over the years; XFL is a most infamous example. What makes this proposal stand out is that it aims to take advantage of the blockchain hype.
The planned model does not perceive blockchain as a practical ingredient but as a means of tokenizing fan involvement. Discerning fans would also question its accuracy to call FCFL a pro sports league with the fact that none of the players are actually professionals.

Regardless, the idea has grown some traction by now having acquired almost half the projected funding target.
Currently, the issue with the sporting industry is that it is centralized and difficult to penetrate. For example, there is only one dominant sporting league for football in the US. This makes the smaller clubs starving for exposure.

Access to watching a game

The games can be costly and difficult to watch from other countries. FCFL aims to solve this problem by forming a virtual platform where consumers can see the game anytime and anywhere.
This league is definitely not for the average sports fan where the primary prospect is the cryptocurrency community strategy in the games.

“Why do the other team have 3 quarterbacks on the field?“
“Those bloody bastards want to confuse the hell out of us. 2 quarterbacks are already confusing enough. Is the major stakeholder on that team freaking Japanese? This is starting to feel like an Eyeshield episode.”

It also makes it even easier for the mafia to rig games. In the long run, this isn’t really a good idea. There is a reason why the smart ones don’t usually watch sports. They are too busy playing Dungeons and Dragons or Magic the gathering perhaps.
