According to this blog post from Cosmos Network, there will be an Ethereum network "Hard Spoon" that will take place in December of this year.
If you're like me, you've probably never heard of "Hard Spoon" term before, so what is it exactly? The post says:
“Hard spoon: a new chain that takes into account state from an existing chain; not to compete, but to provide broad access.” — Jae Kwon
For more clarity:
In our case, we are hard spooning Ethereum by taking the account balances of existing Ethereum holders, replicating those values, and pegging them within our Ethermint VM zone.
So, it you're holding ETH, you should be recipient of whatever these new Ethermint tokens will be called.
What Next? Hard and Soft Knives?
This is the parody portion.
This hard spoon news makes me wonder; will there hard and soft knives in the future too?
And...
What else could we end up with?
After we've exhausted the cutlery drawer, will we need to go to other kitchen utensils to describe new chains?
Could there be a Bitcoin hard whisk in the future? Or perhaps a NEO Soup Ladle on the horizon?
