Need help recovering ETC tokens after splitting. used Vitalik Buterin Splitter Contract. (SOLVED!!!!)

in #ethereum8 years ago (edited)

I used the guide wich is named in Vitalik Buterin Blog here: https://blog.ethereum.org/2016/07/26/onward_from_the_hard_fork/

Guide:
https://steemit.com/ethereum/@pauls/ethereum-fork-step-by-step-guide-to-safely-splitting-your-eth-etc#@exyle/re-pauls-ethereum-fork-step-by-step-guide-to-safely-splitting-your-eth-etc-20160726t194543626z

I successfully split 5 and 7 eth to eth/etc before so I decided to split the rest in one go. I think i might have made a mistake here and i would like know if I should consider my etc tokens lost or if they are recoverable.

So lets say I had:

300eth and 290etc on the same initial address. The difference here is because I got 10 eth come back from the DAO later.

I filled in the contract like before. I wanted to send 299 eth to a new eth address and the etc to poloniex. I didn't think about the difference. The Eth arrived just fine. But now I think the etc transaction could never run because I didn’t have enough etc tokens to cover the transaction.

Sadly I can’t figure out where they are now. They are no longer in the initial adress. Should I consider them lost or are they floating around somewhere?

I would appreciated any help.

UPDATE 1:

WOOHOO. I solved my problem by myself. Booted a VM and loaded the NO DAO FORK. Took about 2 hours. Loaded my keystore files into this new wallet and PRESTO! my missing etc appeared. I'm over the moon! I send some to shapeshift and it worked!
