Ethereum : A new hard fork coming in september
The Ethereum (metropolis) developer team said that a Hard fork will perform at the end of September.
The next improvement will bring significant changes to the platform.
Ethereum, therefore, will undergo profound changes: increasing anonymity will come with new tests "zk-SNARKs" or "Zero-knowledge".
First, users will have the opportunity to make anonymous transactions higher than before.
Then, intelligent contracts, the flagship product of Ethereum will be easier to set up as well as programming.
And finally, Mining will be made more difficult and security of accounts strengthened.
After serenity and metopolis, the Ethereum platform will be more secure and stable, which can lead to lower prices at the time of the changes and then increase considerably because there will necessarily be more invessement which will drive the price upwards.
Sadly ether is over secured, it's such a pain to try and exchange or use that I can't see it going much further in value. Antshares, which use the ethereum blockchain, will be more successful I think.

I recently started to pick up ethereum as a foundation for my crypto portfolio. While I am still a novice, would you please share how you think this will affect the price of the currency. My understanding that the big drawback to ethereum, like Bitcoin, is the transaction speed. Will this enhance that? Is it part of the plasma solution that is bantered about?
