I think Ethereum will reach $1000 because of the ICO fundraisers constantly taking place on the Ethereum Blockchain. As time goes on and Ethereum develops out of its alpha stage, it will gain its value primarily from the deployment and use of Smart Contracts and Dapps on the Ethereum blockchain.
