The World Food Program (WFP), organized by O.N.U. And finalized on May 31, involved offering cryptocoin vouchers to thousands of Syrian refugees. They could then capitalize on the crypto market.
Under the project, the Ethereum platform was used, with 10,000 refugees receiving aid.
Two companies - Parity Technologies, a start-up led by Gavin Wood, ethereum co-founder and Datarella, took care of the technical side.
Alexandra Alden, consultant in the project that has been involved in international implementation, said:
"All the funds received by the refugees were used exclusively to buy food - pasta, lentils or olive oil."
The WFP project is now undergoing detailed analyzes, which could show, for example, how many transactions were made.

The project will be expanded in the future
The organizers want to expand the project and succeed. In August, it hopes to help 100,000 people in Jordan. If the operation is going to go smoothly, the next step will be for the project to help all Jordanian refugees by the end of 2018.
Alden has confirmed that the agency wants to expand beyond Jordan in the future:
"The plan is to develop a pilot project in Jordan. We then evaluate the results and eventually branching out in other states. "
Currently, the agency is in talks with various partners in the humanitarian and private sectors, who could give a helping hand to Zero Hunger, developed by O.N.U. And ending in 2030. In addition, after the Jordanian project was initiated, O.N.U. Has revealed that several Blockchain-based projects will be deployed by various agencies under the aegis of the world forum.
