In ancient times, in a village located in Muara Muntai there was a family consisting of father and two children. The father works as a firewood searcher and sells it to the market. Because often do not go home to search for and sell firewood, the father's children are often neglected. Therefore, the father decides to find a wife and mother who can replace his long-dead wife to take care of his children. In the folklore of the archipelago is told that the new wife and stepmother of the father's children treated his two step children well. However, over time the stepmother often orders her two stepchildren to work hard to take water in the river. The stepmother also had the heart to hit two children of the father while the father went far away for a living. One day, the stepmother sent her two stepchildren to look for firewood into the dense forest and threatened to hit them if they did not bring back a lot of firewood. The two children set out in a dense forest to collect firewood. Until late evening, firewood collected is still not enough. Therefore, they decided to spend the night in the forest. In the folklore of the archipelago about the legend of the dolphins, the younger brother told his brother that he was very hungry. They also searched for food and found many ripe bananas on the tree. In addition to eating until full, they bring some banana comb as a stock and continue to look for firewood in the morning. Their banana supplies run out along with the gathering of firewood. They went back home. Upon arriving home, they did not find the stepmother. The sister who had not eaten rice then saw sticky rice on the stove. He also burst the sticky rice and eat it even though it is still hot. The elder brother who was initially afraid of stepmother became hungry to see his sister eat with gusto. Coinciding with when the brothers are eating, the father came home while angry at the behavior of both children. Apparently, the stepmother had incited the father about her two children. Outraged, the father uttered the words that the manner and manner of eating his two children was like a fish. Surprised, the heat of the rice, which was not initially felt, made the child confused and ran to the river. When throwing themselves in the river that, the sisters turned into a fish that is now called the dolphin fish. The lesson that can be drawn from the short stories of the people of the archipelago about the legend of the dolphin fish is that in any angry condition, one should not say bad words and hurt others. Nor should we be incited by the words of others who are not necessarily the truth. That way, regrets that usually come at the end can be avoided.
