Etch at Tokenisation in the construction industry event.
On 9th May we held our recent NOMAN event at Rocketspace. Hosted by Jeremy Barnett the topic up for discussion was 'tokenising the construction industry'. Despite the gorgeous London weather (a theme for our last two events) we had a full turn out with around 130 people showing up! There was a varied audience that included people in the construction industry to crypto enthusiasts and those just starting to get interested in the blockchain space.
We heard from representatives in the construction and tech industries, with talks from;
Tim Rook at IBM blockchain
Henry Fenby-Taylor at WYG group
Huw Thomas at CBC
Alpesh Doshi at Fintricity
Sarah Louise Johnson at etch
Sarah Louise Johnson, who is community manager at etch presented on how we can tokenise "cash flow" and the ways in which, etch can help increase liquidity for a business whilst simultaneously helping our most financially challenged employers have access to improved cash flow by being paid in Real-time.
“When cash flows, life does the same”
Diagram showing how etch works, the company pays the workers in the form of tokens which are loaded onto an etch pay card. This pay card acts like a normal bank card which, can be used in millions of shops worldwide or kept in the form of savings. When a worker wants to cash out the intuitive app makes use of the multi billion dollar crypto market to convert tokens to local fiat. Workers only ever see their money in local currency making it simple and easy to use without any need for understanding the crypto markets or blockchain technology. The etch pay-roll system also allows workers to send money abroad and to family quickly and cheaply.
The speakers then moved into a panel discussion on the future of blockchain technology and tokenisation in the construction industry taking questions from the audience.
