ETH vs. ETC - Ethereum Classic prevailing would be a positive event for cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
It is starting to look like the old fork of ethereum (ETC) is becoming a serious threat to the new ETH forked by Vitalik and co. The whole notion of the immutable blockchain is violated with such a fork.
If the old fork of Ethereum (ETC) prevails it will lend credibility to the immutability of the blockchain ethos which is what drew so many people into cryptocurrencies in the first place and is one of the critical traits of the blockchain technology. Such an event would likely have a positive effect on the cryptocurrency scene in general. It would make it unlikely that someone will try to pull a bailout again through a fork in the future. This is likely to be a boost in confidence for Bitcoin too.
Ethereum Classic trading volume on Poloniex is over 126,000 BTC in 24hr and the price is up 320% since the bottom.
