How to restore primary pneumothorax
Pneumothorax is a condition that can be found in the ER. Pneumothorax occurs due to the entry of air in the pleural space (the pleura is the lining of the lungs). The presence of air in this cavity can cause pressure that can make the lungs collapse. The result may be symptoms:
chest pain
hard to breathe
Pneumothorax is divided into 2, namely:
Primary pneumothorax: a pneumothorax that occurs in healthy people with no previous history of lung disease
secondary pneumothorax: occurs in people with a history of lung disease
The risk factors for a person experiencing pneumothorax are male, lean, 10-30 years old, smoker, exposed to irritant substances at work (eg silica).
The diagnosis of pneumothorax is made of questioning, physical examination, especially the chest area, as well as chest X-rays. In mild pneumothorax (usually no severe respiratory distress), the doctor will provide high-pressure oxygen. It will then be monitored periodically for about 10 days, Roentgen photos can be repeated to monitor progress.
The heavier pneumothorax will be advisable for a doctor to install a tube to reduce pressure in the pleura.
Follow the treatment thoroughly and control back to the doctor as scheduled when you return home.
