Hedgehogs are one of the protected animals

Good night and my best wishes to all steemit users wherever you are. On this occasion I would like to write about one of the protected animals because its existence has been threatened with extinction. The animals I mean are porcupines.

Last night I got some photos of porcupine from my fiance who went on a trip to a protected forest in Langsa City, Aceh, Indonesia. From the explanation, I just found out that the hedgehog is an animal that must be protected in Indonesia and has been regulated by the law of the Republic of Indonesia.

Porcupine is a rodent (Rodentia) who has thick hair and sharp thorns. These animals are found in Asia, Africa, and America, and tend to spread in the tropics. Porcupine is the third largest rodent in terms of body size, after the capybara and otters.

Porcupine has its own uniqueness because it has a hard coat. This hard hair is one of the tools of self protection used to deal with predators. In general, hedgehogs have two kinds of hair, that is fine hair and hardened hair or thorns.

Hedgehogs have a wide distribution area. Average hedgehogs live in tropical regions such as Asia, Italy, Africa, South America, and North America. Habitat of hedgehog is forests, deserts, rocky places, hillsides, and grasslands.

Hedgehogs are now a rare animal in Indonesia that is protected by law. Therefore, a person who hunts, nurtures, kills or trades Beasts can be subject to criminal penalties.

Even if you want to open as a tourist attraction, should be forest-based tours, not agro-tourism or plantation. Thus, flora and fauna can live and remain sustainable even though developed as a tourist destination.
