Snakes are my least liked animals too and I cannot understand why anyone would want to have them as pets. Gee! you'd have to be a pretty good shot to shoot a snake wouldn't you? They are protected in Australia and under the Nature Conservation Act of 1992, it is an offence to kill, injure or take snakes from the wild. Its all to do with maintaining the natural environment apparently......blah, blah, blah.
Somehow, I don't think your two lawless cowboys would be too phased about reducing the snake population if they were faced with a venomous one. I will say, in the snakes defense, (did I just write that?) they usually retreat when disturbed, BUT......if they feel threatened, they get defensive especially when people try to kill them.
There must be many occasions where an innocent person steps on an unseen one hidden in the grass. There are no snakes in New Zealand so it was hard to adjust to finding them in unexpected places when moving to Australia. 🐍 😲

Well you do have to be a good shot to kill a snake but I AM a good shot. In fact, I'm very humble and don't see myself as having any special gifts or skills or anything but I've always been very good with a pistol. I used to amaze my friends. It's the one thing that has come naturally to me. In fact, most of those things you see in movies like Westerns people think it's all just Hollywood and not possible.
But the thing is, they ARE possible, just not by the actors they're showing doing them! lol ..take this guy for example, the worldest fastest draw:
I cheat though, I use a shot shell which is like a shotgun shell but with smaller shot because sometimes I have to shoot them on our deck and I don't want to blow holes in our deck. Plus it's easier to hit if they're moving because of the shot pattern instead of one bullet.
