High mountaineering preparation to hiking into some day

I am generally not a fan of backtracking on a multi-day hike, but I made an exception to join my friends on this hike into some sea caves.The nootka trail is not all just beautiful sandy beaches, there are also sections of typical west coast forest routes around headlands.
