Secrets of the Dark - Poem

The light peeked in,
Through the opening above.

The red glow of the torch,
Dimmed as they almost died.

The caves did not look,
Any different to sight.

But they were,
He just knew, as he always did.

The rocks carried a secret,
Bound to death were the visitors.

The walk an uphill path,
But the promise of happiness, enchanting.

They talked,
They laughed.

They reached the cave,
Under the moonlight stars.

Ushering in silently,
They smiled knowingly.

Shuffling in the dim light abode,
They stumbled to reach the core.

While they did, sighed out of relief,
For it was time to relax.
