The Monarch Caterpillar

This black and white striped caterpillar is very small and when it is hatched it can barely be seen. This caterpillar also has two pairs of filaments / black antennas, one pair at each end of its body. This caterpillar grows very quickly, and its food is only on the leaves of milkweed and can not live without it. When the caterpillar is fully grown, Caterpillar Monarch will have a length of about 2 inches. Although it looks beautiful, it is very poisonous or unpleasant to birds and mammals because of the cardiac glycosides contained in the milkweed they eat. This Caterpillar will also turn into a Monarch butterfly, considered the most beautiful "king" and of all butterflies.
