Discovering your passion

Have you ever been told, wow you’re natural at that. Or have you found you can do something’s for hours on end without even trying?

These things could be called your passions. Now you might be saying to yourself that’s not me, or I don’t know what I’m good at. To discover what you’re good at ask yourself these questions:

• If you had the entire day to do whatever you want to do what would you do?
• What can you do for hours on end?
• What do you enjoy?
• If you are feeling down, what do you do to pick yourself up?

The answers to these questions can lead you to discover what you are passionate about. For me I enjoy helping people and building things. Either one of these I could turn into a hobby or a more serious mini business. So if you follow what makes you happy and what you are passionate about you are bound to find several business opportunities.

Following what you are passionate about is important for a few reasons

• When the money is scarce and the hours long it is much easier to work on something you are happy about and take pride in as opposed to something that just gives you a paycheck.

• Plus, working on something you are passionate about lets you have fun everyday you come to work. Now not everyday will be a blockbuster and filled with rainbows and butterflies, but as a whole you work will be much more rewarding.

• If you are still drawing a blank on what you are passionate about ask yourself this question:

If you had a million dollars, what would you do?

Once you have discovered what gets you up every morning, formulating a business idea around your passion becomes much easier.

Formulating an idea becomes easier because each time you think about your idea you will become energized and the mountain of work you have to do won’t seem as big anymore. Next you must take the answers you have created here and list down a few business opportunities your passion offers.
