So, first of all, tetanus isn't an infectious disease. You can't have it from a sick person.
By the way, the number of them is extremely low!! It's very hard to find real cases of tetanus during last dozens of years.

The reason for the occurrence of the disease is not the microbe itself, but the ingress of dirt or earth into the wound.

The development of tetanus occurs if the wound is not monitored, is not cleaned of pus, and the dressing is not changed. If, from the very beginning, sanitary treatment of the wound is provided, the development of the disease can be avoided.

Tetanus bacteria cannot survive if there is sufficient oxygen to the wound, for example, by treating the cut site with hydrogen peroxide.

Tetanus bacteria are anaerobic, that is, they cannot exist in the presence of oxygen.

Why don't doctors explain it before vaccination? They make the opposite - convince parents how necessary it is even after the cases of falling in the street!
