A sincere donation of a dollar from a poor man may be more meritorious than a million dollars from a rich man. - Unknown
Jmho...but emphasis on the words may be...highly unlikely in the real scheme of things.
A million dollars from a rich man will do far more to help the little guy with the dollar...
Peace.
Thank you for dropping by and for the comment.
I see your point. But what the quote was trying to say is - a million dollars to a rich man is nothing, but for a poor man a dollar would mean a lot - probably all he has got. And for him to part with that dollar, is more meritorious than the rich man parting with a million dollars.
I hope that explains the quote. :-)
Ahhhhhhhhhhh....yes!....Got it!!!!!!!!!!!!
But, for a rich man to part with a million dollars would speak volumes, as the Bible says, "It's easier for a camel to get through the eye of a needle, than a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 19:24).
Too often, the rich have it to give; but value the distinction/control of wealth over helping others. I could go on; but I think you get it. ;+)
Peace.
Yup, that is well it is more meritorious for the poor man to part with his dollar, than the rich man who gives millions.
