When you visit Cebu you can't miss dropping by Mactan Island or Lapu-lapu City.

I am very proud to be living in this island not because of it's beauty but of course the island is rich in culture and talent.
As I venture the streets I have been noticing a few people wear a unique design T-shirt. So I asked around and found this small store.

What is OPON?

Opon is actually the public market. When you ride a jeepney going to lapu-lapu you will see signages that says Opon. That route is to the market of the island.

So, going back to what this blog is about, well I certainly love to support local product. I can see a lot of talent and skills that we Filipino possess. I just got so intrigued by this shirts the simple yet trendy design caught my attention.

How did OponSide T-shirt come about?

Oponside T-shirt actually started as a T-shirt for skaterboarders. This are group of young skate boarders who joins contest and do skate boarding for fun. First it all started as a Barkada shirt till others noticed and liked it. So it expanded and expanded. If you look at the design it is actually made simple but it rocks, it's simplicity makes it so trendy and youngsters see is so comfortable to wear. I saw a number of young people wear them. So I tried looking for the place. It was just around the public market.

But if your not good at maps like me,haha if your taking a jeepney drop off the market, then you'll just walk straight from the drop off area. When you are in the public market you can't miss the Kaking store, there is a street beside it walk straight and you'll easily see their store called the Oponside.

This is actually just a small store,but they have various of colors of shirts from black, white,yellow, white, red and so on. The only color they don't have yet is pink. But definitely considering it. They don't only cater T-shirts but also Hoodies and some skate boarding needs. They also have customized stickers.

Oponside has been sponsoring events locally, from skateboarding to tattoo competition.

And I wouldn't leave without having my very own Oponside tshirt..Haha

If you are wondering what the logo means, which I thought was just a ball with a star. It is actually O and S combined. Which means O for Opon and S for Side. Brilliant right..The shirt looks good on me, it's not pricey the fabric is thick and very comfortable to wear. So if you visit Mactan Island please consider dropping by the place. It is located at G. Mangubat St. Poblacion Lapu lapu City.
