The Sumatran tiger (Panthera tigris sumatrae) is an endemic species of Indonesia whose population is currently scattered in small populations inside and outside conservation areas in Sumatra. It is estimated that the remaining population in their natural habitat is only 300-400 and the number will continue to decrease if the destruction of Sumatran forest continues.
