After Glenn disappeared, Dylan too leave the arena. The last fight gave him a lot of inspirations. So he wanted to log out, ajd meditate what he had learned.
Meanwhile, the spectators are still dimbfounded by the sudden development,, especially those that are aware of Glenn being a smurf. A minute after both contestants left the premise, the spectators started to react, and conversations broke out.
"Did that "D" guy won?" A guy asked his friend.
"Looks like it," his friend answered.
"How? Isn't that half-masked guy a smurf?" The guy asked again.
"Yeah... he should be, but this "D" guy actully used a doppleganger!" Answered his friend.
"Doppleganger! Are you sure? Isn't that an A-rank ability?" The guy asked again, incredulous.
"It should be... but," his friend tried to answer but is unsure himself.
This kind of conversation is currently happening between the spectators of the match. Not only that it also reached those who are not present through messages.
The message states: [The Appearance of an A-rank ability in a E-rank match]
Some people found this unbelievable, while others calls it nonsense. Even stating that the news was fake.
But those critics shut their mouths after someone among the spectators, spend some credits to buy a video copy of the match.
After seeing the video themselves, everyone was in awe. After all, the "Doppleganger" ability is pretty rare, and a high level ability that do not appear on the first awakening. But it actually appeared on a low level E-rank match. So how could it not gain some attention.
Still, there would be people questioning it's authenticity. Then a known expert appeared, he pointed out that this certain "doppleganger" is black, and faceless. This dampened the move quite a bit as people also noticed this. Some even thought it is a fake like the "Mirage, or Illusion" ability—both are B-rank abilities.
But the said expert quickly denied this as the black "doppleganger" have a matterial body, pointing out that it manage to grab its opponents sword. He states, "mirage, and illusions cannot hold objects. And both ability would not appear on videos. My guess is that its an new, and unknown ability very similar, or even stronger than doppleganger..."
The experts analysis shocked everyone who read the analysis. A new ability similar to doppleganger? And it might be stronger than said ability? What the hell!
The news spread much quicker than before, and the experts article quickly reached the trending page of the virtual world forum.
While this is happening, the protagonist of the story is currently seated in a meditative manner. He is trying to gain enlightment to a new technique. Several minutes later, Dylan opened his eyes, and sighed.
He failed to gain enligment on the new technique.
"I need to try harder..." Dylan reminded himself, not disappointed by his failure.
Dylan is no stranger to failures. In fact he failed so many times that he lost count. For him failure is just another way to improve himself.
Suddenly his stomach grumbled. Looking at the time, he notices that it is already 8 o'clock. "It seemed that I missed dinner..." Dylan said wryly. "I hope the cafeteria's still open, or I'll be forced to buy from the convenient store," he added while opening the door.
Walking towards the cafeteria, he notices an attractive figure that looked kinda familiar. "Isn't that Dianne?" Dylan questioned, unsure.
He then silently walks towards the figure to make sure. As he was approaching, the figure spoke, "who's there?", then looked at Dylan's direction.
Dylan was surprised that he got noticed so easily! Also, the attractive figure was indeed the ice goddess Dianne. After being discovered, Dylan stopped approaching, and apologized without trying to make an excuse, "sorry, I did not mean to startled you. I just got curious because you look kind familiar from afar. I'm leaving now."
But to his surprised, Dianne spoke again, and asked, "what's your name, and where are you going?"
Though confused, Dylan still answered honestly, "I'm Dylan, and I'm going to the cafeteria for dinner."
"Dylan? I see... also... dinner? Oh, it's dinner time already? Let me join you." Dianne declared, and then walked towards the startled Dylan.
Seeing Dianne walking towards his direction, and hearing what she just said, Dylan almost got a scare!
"What the heck! What's all of the sudden!" Dylan yelled inside his head, a little panicky.
"I've never been to the cafeteria before so I do not the way. Why don't we go together. I too haven't had dinner yet." Dianne asked the still dumfounded Dylan.
"Okay..." answered the still confused Dylan.
The two unlike pair then started walking towards the cafeteria in awkward silence.
