NEO Earth: Rebels (Part 4)

After opening the cabinet, Codde saw person hiding inside! To be more precise he saw a girl hiding inside the cabinet! No! To more and more precise he saw a beautiful girl hiding inside the kitchen cabinet! No! No! To be more, more, and more precise, he saw... okay, enough, I'm sure you get the point.

Codde quickly snaps out of his trance after hearing several foot steps. Panicking, Codde wanted to look for another cabinet to hide but there's not enough time. So he put a finger above his mouth as indication to the girl to remain quiet. He then enters the cabinet without asking permission from the girl!

The girl wanted to say something but decided not to and tried to make more space by squeezing her body to the side. Codde then carefully close the door of the kitchen cabinet. Then awkward silence...

But before things get more awkward the two heard some men talking.

"Do you think they would agree?" A man asked

"Hmph! They better or we will start killing!" Answered another man.

Codde frown after hearing the conversation of the two "terrorist". He then thought of his friends and classmate, then started worrying. He then felt the girl squeezed with him on the same cabinet shivering.

Codde tried taking a glance but the cabinet is pitch black inside so.he could not see hwr expression. But he knows that she's very worried like him. After all, a girl this pretty should be very popular and had lots of friends—and maybe, even a boyfriend.

Codde sigh, he had never been popular with the girls since he could remember. It's not like he is bad-looking, actually, look-wise, he could be considered above average. It's just that he is not very sociable, and it takes a long while before he warms up to people.

While Codde was immersed in self-loathing, he heard the someone stopped in front of the cabinet they are hiding!

Codde felt chill rising from his heart, and cannot help but curse "shit!" In his mind nonstop! But then he felt the girl by his side shivering more strongly. And as if looking for support, the girl clutched a cold hand on his arm!

Feeling the girl's fear woke Codde from his stupor. He then gently but involuntarily the girls hands. The hand shook a little but did not disengage. Codde even feel that the shivering subsided a lot! Much to his confusion...

Ignoring the strange feeling surfacing deep inside his heart, Codde put all his concentration on the person outside the cabinet. Though, apprehensive, he decided to act the moment the door opened!

Don't forget that his ability allows him to have the strenght and endurance of four grown-up men, so he could fight if he have to! Of course, he would have prefer it if they could get over the situation without being discovered.

As if hearing his prayer, the person went away after hearing his companion calling him. Before long, they no longer heard any noise. But just to be sure Codde and the girl did not move for half an hour! After waiting for so long and still hearing no one the two youngster let out a sigh of relief.

Yet the girl's hand was still clutching his arm strongly. Codde being inexperienced, cannot decide what to do. He wanted to tell the girl to let go so but deep inside he didn't want to. And things turned awkward again...

The girl also noticed his action and quickly let go of the arm. Though it's pitch black inside the cabinet, the girl is pretty certain that she was as red as a tomato due to embarrasment!

Awkward silence...
